Furness Abbey is the jewel in the crown of the Furness peninsula. It is nearly 900 years old and set in a beautiful and tranquil valley that has given a sense of peace and history to thousands over the years.

Furness Abbey Fellowship is a small charity set up to support English Heritage and promote the Abbey. One of the main ways of doing this is through our annual Medieval Fair now coming up to its eleventh year (2024). We have re-enactors, musicians, demonstrators and craftspeople plus games and activities for all ages. You can buy refreshments, books and other things too.

If you are an EH member you get in free, or if you live in the LA13,14 or 15 area , bring proof of address for free entry. Otherwise, normal EH charges apply (2024)
