Throughout 2021 and 2022, artist Kim Hubball created a socially engaged project that involved talking to local people who live and work in Barrow about things that matter to them. Taking these conversations, and the many photos shot during her trips, Kim then created a colour palette for each of the wards. Each colour is matched to a specific shade, and it’s name reflects the conversation in which it was mentioned. These were then used to create graphic illustrations of each ward, inspired by the shapes and landscape features found there. A colour palette and illustration summing up the whole of Barrow was then designed and exhibited.
