Led by artist Belén L.Yáñez and architect Cristina Villalonga, the Noras of Barrow project celebrated local women’s contributions to Barrow’s community, as well as the role of diverse women in their daily lives.
In May and June 2022, the artist's used wheat paste to paste up collaged portraits of women and girls from Barrow, onto buildings around the town centre. The collages, created by Belén and Cristina were inspired by the women and girl's hopes, interests and personalities.
Prints of these collages were also showcased at an exhibition at The Forum on Duke Street.
After being shown at the Forum these prints were then exhibited from summer 2022 until February 2023 at Barrow Market Hall on Duke Street.
